About the troy ounce
The troy ounce is the unit used in all international trade in gold, silver, platinum and palladium. One troy ounce is 31.1035 grams — around 10 % more than an ordinary avoirdupois ounce (28.35 g). It is abbreviated oz t or simply oz.
Why ounces in Sweden?
Swedish shops work in grams, but the market price is set in dollars per ounce in London and New York. Every Swedish gold price is therefore a conversion of the ounce price.
