9k gold price per gram today (375)

9k gold, hallmarked 375, contains 37.5 % pure gold. It is common in British jewellery and in mass-produced chains and signet rings, and is the lowest fineness that may legally be called gold in most of Europe.

Hard but pale

The high copper and silver content makes 375 hard and durable, but the colour is noticeably paler than 585 and it tarnishes more easily.

Melt value is low

Because only just over a third is gold, the gram value is roughly 37.5 % of the pure gold price. Many buyers set a minimum weight for 375 because the payout per piece is small — collect everything and sell it together.

Gold is traded internationally in US dollars per troy ounce (31.1035 g). We take the live spot price, convert it to Swedish kronor at today's USD/SEK rate (9.74) and divide by 31.1035. That gives the price of pure gold, today 1,272.27 SEK per gram. Because 9k gold contains 37.5 % gold, its value is that figure × 375/1000 = 477.58 SEK per gram, or about $49.06.

Worked examples with today's price

A 5 g 9k ring contains 1.88 g of fine gold and is worth 2,388 SEK. A 15 g chain is worth 7,164 SEK, and a heavy 25 g bracelet 11,939 SEK. If a buyer offers 75 % of spot you would receive about 5,373 SEK for the chain.

Tips before you sell 9k gold

Weigh each piece on a kitchen scale with two decimals and subtract stones, steel springs and other non-gold parts. Keep 375 pieces separate from other purities, otherwise a buyer may pay the lowest purity for everything. Ask whether the quote is per gram of total weight or of fine gold, and whether testing or postage fees are deducted. Get at least three quotes — the difference between pawnshops, jewellers and mail-in refiners is often 20–30 %. Designer pieces and jewellery with certified stones are often worth more sold whole than melted.
